This was taken in the upper Blackfoot Valley in May; this scene is now weathering the parched aridity of a prolonged drought. Behind these mountains burn two large wildfires in the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area. These have grown rapidly, 14,900 and 6200 acres respectively as of today. Pray for rain...

"As we passed on, it seemed as if those scenes of enchantment would never have an end."
This was Meriwether Lewis describing the white cliffs of the Missouri River. As we explored Missouri River country in the past week, his words kept coming to my mind.
