First light

First light, originally uploaded by Bitterroot.
Taken at Marble Canyon, Arizona, just south of Lee's Ferry.

pushing down the darkness,
rosy light touches clifftops
under a transparent moon

You've done it again. Your Haikus are always perfect and complement your photos beautifully.
That photo is simple breathtaking!
Hi! Isn't it a blessing to be able to see something like this? I went to AZ when I was 13, and what I remember most was how completely different it was from what I was used to (fir trees, white mountains, sea water, rain of Puget Sound) and how mesmerizing that difference was. Celeste
Pam, thank you! It's kind of you to say this for this post, since I struggled with this one - had to write eight different poems before I could post anything at all.

Cathy, so pleased you like this.

And Celeste, it's very different from what I was raised with as well (mountains of western Montana.) It took me awhile to get used to the starkness, but now I love it.
