Bitterroot and Bergamot

Concern over the forest fires in western Montana is what has prompted me to take a break from posting. I just spent three weeks in Montana in places that were surrounded by active fires pouring out thick, acrid smoke. My family and I spent time trying to protect our little ancient family cabin from being swept up in an uncontrolled fire that started in a wilderness area.

Now that September is here with cooler temperatures, the destructive power of the fires is abating to some degree. The drought, however, remains severe, and another bout of hot, windy weather could kick everything up again.

Pray for rain for the suffering land and all living beings present there.
