Morning mist drifting over hills

Morning mist drifting over hills, originally uploaded by Bitterroot.
Taken in the hills south of Missoula, Montana. Mount Sentinel just barely visible in the distance.

misty gray wraiths
drifting over dead grass
fade to blue beyond

Comments:
Fog or I guess in this case, the morning mist, is such an interesting phenomenon- how it just hangs there, yes, as you say, wraith-like...
I so enjoy coming here!

edith .... what you see .....
:-)

ohhhhh, ahhhhhh!

Thank you my friends!

I love the last line in this -- beautiful!

Fade into blue beyond is beautiful!

a beautiful description, but it also speaks to life, death, and loss... which makes it a great poem.

beautiful poem-I thought for sure a haiku with the structure but after no one mentioned that in comments I had to go count the syllables. I love how the picture goes with it.

I loved the blue, especially with the picture and the small bit of blue sky in the back. Lovely.

this is so Scottish, lovely....

Thank you so much for the encouraging words, everyone. I very much appreciate it!
