This is the outlet to a pristine little lake near the Mission Mountains Wilderness in western Montana. Unfortunately, this area is owned by a private timber operation and I fear it may be opened up to development sooner rather than later. The area surrounding the lake has already been logged beyond recognition.
This is why I am trying to visit and capture as many unspoiled areas in my home state as possible before they all just slip away under the developers' bulldozers. I also support local citizens' groups that are working, sometimes very effectively, to preserve open space and wilderness in western Montana.
