Wintry blues and browns

Wintry blues and browns, originally uploaded by Bitterroot.

Seasonal extremes: the fog bank separates the brown from the blue in a January scene that is pure Montana for me. This was taken less than a mile from the photo below, but the seasonal contrast moves it into a different dimension altogether.

Hard to believe that I was swooping over those formidable distant Bitterroot Mountains in a flimsy hang glider just last summer!

OK, April Fools...I try to be somewhat intrepid when possible, but hang gliders don't really fit into that picture...
ha ha...I was wondering about that. Brrrr. That would have been frosty!

Where did you go hang gliding in the Bitterroots? I'm headed up that way with my trike and gliders. Mine ain't flimsy though...
