Perched on a hilltop

, originally uploaded by Bitterroot.

The sweetest little cabin perched on a hilltop that overlooks the valleys, rivers, and peaks of my childhood. I could do a whole blog just on log cabins built by my family members at various stages of their lives. There's something here in the communal family memory dating all the way back to the 1860's.

Edith, I have to say it again and again - you are SO lucky to have that family history here in Montana. I can imagine a book of photos and memories .... by you ... someday.

Hi M ~ I do feel blessed to have this history, shared with some very dear family members who also remember the stories. My dad actually did write a book about the different branches of our family in Montana. It is a wonderful legacy.
