Bright Sunday morning in Madrid
I have heard that the light in Spain has a translucent quality to it. It seemed to me that this was so. It's impossible to capture with camera; but here are some bright colors on a Sunday morning street.

I can see it (the translucent light)!
It helps when the culture encourages warm pastel colours on the even the most pedestrian buildings.
This is as it was in Italy on the Mediterranean.

Well, Edith - it seems to me you have captured the unique light in Madrid - this photo's colors are amazing. If only we had more of these paint colors on our buildings in the US! They are so warm, inviting.
